259. Joe Jackson

Often in the shadow of Elvis Costello (and to a lesser extent, Graham Parker) Joe Jackson was among the wave of stylish New Wave artists who were also accomplished songwriters. Jackson showed throughout his career that he was capable of manipulating any genre, and likely sacrificed album sales to pursue music that he found gratifying. It may have also hurt his chances for a Hall of Fame induction too.         The Bullet Points:   Eligible Since: 2003   Country of Origin: United Kingdom (Burton-upon-Trent, England)   Nominated In: Never   NIHOF’s Favorite Album: Night and Day (1982)   NIHOF’s Favorite Song: Sunday Papers (From Look Sharp!, 1979) {acepolls 302}
