In the first decade of the new millennium, the medium of television became overrun with reality television. Other portions of this website may discuss the merits of reality T.V., but never have we had felt the need to incorporate that discussion in terms of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. With Ozzy Osbourne, we may have to reevaluate that position.   Already a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for his work fronting the groundbreaking metal band, Black Sabbath, Ozzy Osbourne went on to have a very successful solo career and remains as one of the top concert draws today. Although his solo work did not eclipse the work he did with Sabbath critically, it did very well commercially and he actually expanded his fan base. As one of the reality show pioneers, his new public image as a cartoonish, incoherent bungler may not exactly be helping him achieve the second induction that some may feel he deserves. Having said that, considering how long Black Sabbath had to wait for their induction, it stands to reason that should Ozzy get in it will be long after he made his last television appearance.   The Bullet Points:   Eligible Since: 2005   Country of Origin: United Kingdom (Birmingham, England)   Why He Will Get In: Anyone with his high public profile always has a shot.   Why They Won’t Get In: He is already in, and although well known, he is viewed by many as a buffoon.   Nominated In: Never   Essential Albums: Blizzard of Ozz (1980) Diary of a Madman (1981) Bark at the Moon (1983) The Ultimate Sin (1986)   Our Five Favorite Songs as Chosen by Each Member of the NIHOF Committee: Crazy Train (From Blizzard of Ozz, 1980) Mr. Crowley (From Blizzard of Ozz, 1980) Suicide Solution (From Blizzard of Ozz, 1980) Bark at the Moon (From Bark at the Moon, 1983) Shot in the Dark (From The Ultimate Sin, 1986)   www.ozzy.com {youtube}Q9jMIr30dJE{/youtube}{youtube}G4-8k45VAFQ{/youtube}{youtube}ZyKM2fxjzv0{/youtube}{youtube}rNxEfNnRWCM{/youtube}{acepolls 109}
